Anime Expo 2024 is just around the corner! More exciting news are coming as fans and industry alike count down the days of one of the largest anime events in America. Avex Pictures announced that they will be hosting a special panel at the event, which will run from July 4th to 7th at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.
Avex Pictures’ special panel is a joint panel celebrating the company’s 10th anniversary. It will include special guests such as directors Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Gurren Lagann) and Akiyo Ohashi (Bungou Stray Dogs 4ths Season) and features, especially for fans of Naoko Yamada (Kimi no Iro) and studio BONES.
There will be special screenings of the new The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies anime series and the upcoming Look Back film, as well the Garden of Remembrance short film directed by Naoko Yamada. Naoko Yamada also directed the animated film, The Colors Within (Kimi no Iro) that is set to air on August 30, 2024.
Fans will be able to watch the world premiere of studio BONES’ latest anime series on July 4th. The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies follows a jinxed magical girl, Byakuya, and the evil lieutenant, Mira. Byakuya and Mira were supposed to face off against one another, but they unexpectedly fell in love at first sight!
Akiyo Ohashi, the director of the series, BONES producer Naoki Amano (Noragami), and Avex Pictures producer Tomokazu Iizumi will also be joining Avex Pictures’ special panel. They will share the latest information on their past collaborations, specifically mentioning the Noragami anime in the panel’s description.
Look Back is an animated film based on the popular one-shot created by the Chainsaw Man creator Tatsuki Fujimoto. It follows the story of Fujino and Kyomoto as they explore their love of creating manga. The film will premiere in Japan on June 28th, but international fans can look forward to watching a special screening of the movie on July 6th. Director Kiyotaka Oshiyama will also provide commentary during Avex Pictures’ joint panel.
As always, Anime Expo will feature many more anime companies, including Crunchyroll, Kodansha, Warner Bros, etc. Each of them will have exciting panels, premieres, news, and announcements.
