The 1993 samurai period drama anime film Ninja Scroll is returning to North American theatres this year, courtesy of Iconic Events Releasing and HIDIVE. The theatrical re-release this year is part of Iconic Events Releasing’s 2024-2025 AX Cinema Nights series and will screen in over 500 U.S. theaters on September 11, 12 & 15 and be presented in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dub. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the film’s released release in the region. A trailer has been released following the announcement:

The official listing for the event lists Ninja Scroll’s synopsis as follows:
When Jubei saves a young ninja woman from the unthinkable, he assumes that’s the end of it. To his surprise, it’s only just the beginning. Together, the two investigate the mysterious deaths of an entire village which uncovers a conspiracy of demonic proportions! Getting closer to the truth, the demonic forces will stop at nothing to silence Jubei and his companion for good!
Madhouse animated the film under the direction of Yoshiaki Kawajiri, who also did the screenplay. Yutaka Minowa served as the character designer and animation director while Hiromasa Ogura did the art direction. Hitoshi Yamaguchi was the photography director, with music by Kaoru Wada.
Producers for the film included Shigeru Kitayama, Masako Fukuyo, and Kazuhiko Ikeguchi. Toho, JVC, and Movic were part of the production team.
