KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World Season 3 anime is getting an OVA. The anime aired in the Spring 2024 season and will follow in the path of its prequels with a special episode. The first season’s OVA follows Kazuma as he faces death with a “Wish-Granting Choker” and decides to torture his companions, while the second OVA lets us see the party off into another dungeon adventure caused by Kazuma’s smugness. Further details about the new special have not been revealed.
The third season of KonoSuba anime was animated by studio Drive and directed by Yujiro Abe. Takaomi Kanyasaki, who previously worked on the anime, was the chief supervisor. Makoto Uezu was in charge of the series composition, while Koichi Kikuta was once again credited for the character designs. The third season was announced alongside the KonoSuba: An Explosion On This Wonderful World spin-off, which aired in 2023.
KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima is a light novel series that first started publishing in 2013. The series ended in 2020, after 17 volumes. The series received multiple spin-offs and side stories, along with an anime adaptation. The first season of the anime adaptation was animated by Studio DEEN. It aired in the Winter 2016 anime season and had 10 episodes. Season 2, titled KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world! 2, also had 10 episodes and aired in the Winter 2017 season. Both seasons were followed by an OVA episode.
J.C. Staff animated the KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world! Movie: Legend of Crimson movie, which premiered in 2019. In addition to TV anime and the movie, KonoSuba is a part of the Isekai Quartet universe. A spin-off anime focusing on Megumin, titled , aired in 2023.
Yen Press licensed the series in English and describes the plot as:
Game loving shut-in Kazuma Sato’s life as a young schoolboy in Japan abruptly comes to an early end…or at least it was supposed to. When he opens his eyes, though, he sees a beautiful goddess that offers him a once in an after-lifetime chance to be reborn in a parallel world. The catch is that the world is violent and threatened by a growing evil! Fortunately, he can choose any one thing to bring with him. So he chooses the goddess, Aqua! And so his adventure with his gorgeous companion begins–if he could just get enough money and food to survive, keep his goddess out of trouble, and avoid grabbing the attention of the Demon King’s army!
