It’s a big year for the Love Live! franchise, and it keeps getting bigger! Along with this year’s Nijigasaki movie and the third season of Love Live! Superstar!, the franchise now welcomes its first live-action adaptation. The premiere date for the Love Live! School Idol Musical the DRAMA is November 21 via MBS.
The live-action TV drama is based on the 2022 School Idol Musical, which centers on the idol activities of the Takizakura Girls’ Academy and the Tsubakisakuhana Girls’ High. Hiroto Tozuka and Keijiro Tsubakimoto (Haiiro no Otome, Yakuza Lover) will direct the Love Live! School Idol Musical the DRAMA. Hajime Yatate credits the original story, while Sakurako Kimino contributes the original idea. Noriyoshi Kishimoto handles the live-action screenplay, and Yuki Wakabayashi oversees planning and production. The cast for the show includes:

Love Live! School Idol Musical tells the story of the Takizakura Girls’ Academy in Osaka and the Tsubakisakuhana Girls’ High School in Hyogo. When the daughters of the two school presidents meet through idol activities, they discover a world they never thought possible. And through those idol activities, the girls work towards a new and exciting dream! The musical stage cast includes:
