My Hero Academia: Vigilantes revealed visuals of five pro heroes ahead of the show’s April 7 premiere date, including those of All Might, Eraser Head and Midnight. The anime was announced in December last year at Jump Festa. Just like with the main My Hero Academia anime adaptation, studio BONES is in charge of the animation. The main trailer and visual were revealed earlier this month.
The characters will be appearing in the new anime, with the voice cast returning:
- Kenta Miyake as All Might (Toshinori Yagi)
- Junichi Suwabe as Eraser Head (Shota Aizawa)
- Akeno Watanabe as Midnight (Nemuri Kayama)
- Hiroyuki Yoshino as Present Mic (Hizashi Yamada)
- Masamichi Kitada as Ingenium (Tensei Iida)
Check out the new visuals and comments from the voice cast below.
Kenta Miyake’s comment: “Even the No.1 hero, All Might, once said that he couldn’t save everyone. At that moment, I found myself wondering: ‘What happens to those who need help in places beyond All Might’s reach?’ This story, Vigilantes, provides one possible answer while weaving its narrative. Please look forward to the activities of these vigilantes, who approach heroism differently than the pro heroes.
Ashihara, you too can become a hero!
Junichi Suwabe’s comment: “Vigilantes is a spin-off set in a timeline before the events of My Hero Academia. I never imagined it would get an anime adaptation! I was glad I followed the manga from the beginning, knowing that Shota Aizawa would appear (laughs). The passion at the production site is on par with My Hero Academia. With new cast members giving their all, I hope you’ll enjoy it!!”
Akeno Watanabe’s commnet: “More than anything, I’m so thrilled to see Midnight again!!! That’s my biggest feeling of happiness. Getting to meet and portray her when she’s a little younger than in My Hero Academia feels like a miracle, and I am deeply grateful for this chance. It’s all thanks to the love and support from fans who have always cheered for My Hero Academia.
I’m fully ready, and the energy on set is soaring! Please look forward to the broadcast!!”
Hiroyuki Yoshino’s comment: “Thanks to Vigilante‘s anime adaptation, I got to see what the familiar characters from My Hero Academia were like in their earlier days! I’m also intrigued by the actions of the vigilantes themselves. Please enjoy this along with the original manga, just like My Hero Academia!”
Masamichi Kitada’s comment: “I’m Masamichi Kitada, playing Tensei Iida. I’ve been looking forward to the anime adaptation of Vigilante more than anyone else. I’m so happy it’s finally here. I can’t wait to deliver the image of the original Ingenium racing through the story to everyone. Tensei is such an amazing guy. I will give it my all to portray the determination, passion, and fighting spirit that comes through in the manga. Let’s run together to the finish line!”

The My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga is based on Kohei Horikoshi’s work and was written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and drawn by Betten Court. It began serialization in Jump GIGA in 2018 before getting transferred to Shonen Jump+ and running until July 2022. Its 126 chapters were compiled into 15 volumes. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English.
The story of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga takes place 5 years before the main story. VIZ describes the first volume: Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…
