Anime fans looking to explore Japan and its rich cultural landscape will have a unique opportunity to do so in June 2025. The Anime Adventure Tour 2025, organized by Ayabex in collaboration with broadcasting giant MBS Media Holdings, is set to take participants through Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Yokohama, featuring anime industry experiences, cultural excursions, and major fan events in Japan.
A Rare Behind-the-Scenes Anime Experience
Unlike typical sightseeing tours, Anime Adventure Tour 2025 is a 10-day immersive trip which offers access to locations and activities that are not always available to tourists in Japan. Participants will attend the Chayamachi Oshi Festival, one of Kansai’s largest pop culture events, featuring cosplay, exclusive merchandise, and industry panels.
Additionally, they will get the rare chance to visit a professional anime recording studio, where they can experience dubbing anime characters first-hand.
Other highlights include guided anime pilgrimages to real-life locations that inspired famous anime, interactions with a producer from MBS Animation, and themed dining experiences at a maid café, ninja café, and otaku hubs in the famous Akihabara and Ikebukuro districts.
A Structured Yet Flexible Itinerary
The tour has both structured events and free time for self-exploration, allowing participants to experience both guided activities and have time to just explore on their own. The itinerary includes:
- Osaka: The tour will begin with a welcome party at an izakaya (sort of a pub, literally translates to “stay-drink-place”) where an MBS Anime Producer will be present, before heading to the Chayamachi Oshi Festival, which is hosted by MBS.
- Kyoto & Nara: Stops include Nara Park, where participants can interact with the city’s famous deer, and Fushimi Inari Shrine, a historic landmark.
- Tokyo: The group will travel by shinkansen (bullet train) and explore Tokyo Tower, anime pilgrimage spots, and cultural districts like Asakusa.
- Yokohama: A day trip to Yokohama’s Chinatown, Red Brick Warehouse, and iconic anime locations.
- Industry Insider Access: Guests will visit MBS Animation studios and enjoy a hands-on anime recording experience.
- Final Day – Free Tokyo Exploration: The itinerary concludes with a day in Tokyo for shopping and self-exploration, with recommended locations including Nakano Broadway and Odaiba.
