Colombian Singer J Balvin Joins Solo Leveling Season 2 Voice Cast in ‘Major’ Role

Grammy-nominated Colombian singer J Balvin will be joining the Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise From the Shadow- anime in a ‘major’ role, as reported by Variety. While details on the role were not revealed, they did share that he will will provide both the English and Spanish voices.

José Álvaro Osorio Balvín, known globally as J Balvin, is a Colombian reggaeton superstar who is widely considered to have revolutionized Latin music. He became famous with hits like “Ginza” and “Mi Gente,” and he has worked with many big artists like Beyoncé, Cardi B, and Bad Bunny.

The anime is based on the Solo Leveling webtoon by Chugong and DUBU from REDICE Studio, which was adapted by h-goon. The story follows the world’s ‘weakest hunter’ Sung Jinwoo, as he gets a way to level up in a world where it is otherwise impossible. He has now become S-Rank, and he is ready to face Karlargar and his high orcs.

Solo Leveling was previously also voted the most anticipated anime of Winter 2024, and it also won Best New Anime at our Winter 2024 Anime Awards.The second season was then voted as the most anticipated show of Winter 2025 this season.
