Just days before its scheduled opening in Osaka, the Tokyo Revengers -The LAST LEAP- stage play has suffered a major setback in the form of a fire. The fire broke out during the transportation of production materials, resulting in the complete destruction of all costumes, wigs, makeup tools, and parts of the stage set.

The materials were en route to COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA WW Hall, where the show is set to premiere on June 26. According to the production committee, no injuries were reported in the incident.

As a result, the June 26 performance will now be presented as a preview performance, allowing for potential technical adjustments and leaving open the possibility of on-stage disruptions. The show’s start time has also been pushed back from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM local time.

Ticketholders for the original opening performance will still be admitted to the revised preview show. The production is also offering ticket transfers to other performances, including those in Yokohama, or refunds for those unable to attend. Specific details will be announced through the official website and social media channels.

Despite the fire and subsequent challenges, the Tokyo Revengers -The LAST LEAP- stage play team promises to do everything to meet the fans’ expectations:

“While the situation is undoubtedly difficult, we remain committed to doing everything in our power within the time available to deliver a performance that meets the expectations of our audience.”

Tokyo Revengers -The LAST LEAP- is part of the popular “2.5D” theatrical genre, which adapts manga and anime into live-action stage performances. It’s based on Ken Wakui’s Tokyo Revengers manga, which also has a new sequel anime in production for a 2026 release.
