On Yuri Day, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of Café LycoReco, a cafe based on the original anime Lycoris Recoil, shared a new visual of Chisato and Takina sharing an umbrella on a rainy day. The Yuri Day occasion is dedicated to Yuri-themed works and is celebrated on June 25.
Lycoris Recoil is an original anime by Spider Lily that premiered in 2022. A-1 Pictures animated the series with Shingo Adachi as director. The series also received six short movies titled Lycoris Recoil: Friends are Thieves of Time, with the first episode debuting on April 16, 2025. A separate new anime project is also in development. Director Shingo Adachi confirmed that they started working on that as soon as the TV anime ended.
Crunchyroll streams the anime in English subbed and dubbed version, and they describe it as follows:
For these peaceful days――there’s a secret behind it all.
A secret organization that prevents crimes: “DA – Direct Attack”.
And their group of all-girl agents: “Lycoris”.
This peaceful everyday life is all thanks to these young girls.
The elite Chisato Nishikigi is the strongest Lycoris agent of all time.
Alongside is Takina Inoue, the talented but mysterious Lycoris.
They work together at one of its branches–Café LycoReco.
Here, the orders this café takes range from coffee and sweets to childcare, shopping, teaching Japanese to foreign students, etc.
It’s mostly tasks unbefitting of Lycoris.
The free-spirited and optimistic pacifist, Chisato.
And the cool-headed and efficient Takina.
The chaotic everyday lives of this mismatched duo begin!
In September 2022, a manga adaptation by Yasunori Bizen was released along with a spin-off light novel titled Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days, written by Asaura and illustrated by Imigimura. The series also received a stage play adaptation the following year.
