Animation studio P.A. WORKS has announced a new original TV anime titled Towa no Yugure (Twilight of Eternity), scheduled to begin airing in October 2025. The series will broadcast nationwide in Japan on 28 MBS/TBS network stations during the Super Animeism TURBO programming block.
A teaser trailer and visual have been released, introducing the main cast and revealing the main staff working on the anime. Naokatsu Tsuda is directing, with Yoshiko Saito as the character designer and Masahiro Tokuda composing the music.
A promise made over 200 years ago. But the one waiting isn’t you-it’s someone who looks like you.”
The story follows Akira Himegami, a high school student who awakens from cold sleep after two centuries to find the world completely changed. Governments have collapsed and cities are destroyed, and society is managed by a centralized organization known as OWEL. Traditional marriage has been replaced by a system called “Elsie.”
While trying to make sense of this different future, Akira meets Yuugure, an android who closely resembles his former lover, Towasa. She unexpectedly proposes to him, saying:
“Akira… please marry me.”
Akira is naturally confused, but he chooses to travel with Yuugure, holding on to the belief that Towasa is still alive somewhere. Together, they explore a world with new rules for relationships, searching for meaning in their own connection. The main voice cast includes:
- Shuichiro Umeda as Akira Himegami
- Yui Ishikawa as Yugure
- Ai Kayano as Maki Towasa
