At its GUNDAM Showcase – Featuring 30 Years of Gundam Wing panel during San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Bandai Namco Filmworks revealed numerous projects celebrating multiple Gundam series, including theatrical releases and anniversary initiatives.
Gundam Wing 30th Anniversary
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, a new illustration inspired by classic artwork was revealed, alongside a short commemorative film titled Operation 30th, directed by Toru Iwasawa.
A new manga series by illustrator Sakura Asagi and screenwriter Katsuyuki Sumisawa will serve as a bridge between Endless Waltz and Frozen Teardrop. Chapter 1 is currently available online.
A theatrical re-release of Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz is also planned, with screenings in both Japan and the United States. A highlight reel, Introducing Gundam Wing from ZERO, narrated by Duo Maxwell, also debuted online with English subtitles on July 25 via GundamInfo.
Iron-Blooded Orphans 10th Anniversary
Bandai Namco announced a 10th anniversary project for Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, reuniting director Tatsuyuki Nagai and the original voice cast. A compilation film, Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt – Path of the Little Challenger, will premiere in Japanese theaters on October 31, 2025. A North American release is also planned.
Hathaway Sequel
The sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, titled The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, is set for release in Japan in Winter 2025. A North American theatrical release is expected as well.
