After almost a decade, the Wolf & Parchment: New Theory Spice & Wolf light novel is coming to an end. The announcement was made via a Kadokawa product listing, which indexed the 13th volume of the novel as the last in the series. Isuna Hasekura (story) and Ju Ayakura (illustrations) started the Wolf & Parchment light novel in April 2016. The 13th and final volume of the light novel will be released in Japan on November 8, 2025.
Kadokawa’s ASCII Media Works published the light novels in Japan. Yen Press licensed and publishes both the original Spice and Wolf and the Wolf & Parchment novels in the West.
Wolf & Parchment: New Theory Spice & Wolf Synopsis
Taking place years after the main Spice and Wolf story, Wolf & Parchment follows Tote Cole and Holo and Lawrence’s daughter, Myuri. The light novel was launched as part of Spice and Wolf’s 10th anniversary.
It has been 15 years since Tote Col began his quest to become a man of the cloth. However, that time has done little to dampen his desire to reform the church. Even after two decades, that desire burns as intensely as it did at the beginning of his journey. So when Tote gets the opportunity to travel to the Kingdom of Winfiel and correct the church’s misdoings, he leaves his current life behind. Bidding farewell to Lawrence and Holo, Tote departs from Nyohhira, his northern home.
But when Miyuri (much like her mother before her) surprises Tote by tagging along in his travels, it presents a conundrum for him. While Tote initially tries to convince Myuri to return to Nyohhira, he relents and allows the kawaii demi-human to accompany him as he traverses unknown lands.
Wolf & Parchment received a manga adaptation by Hidori. Dengeki Maoh has serialized the manga since its 2019 debut.
