The TV anime adaptation of Kami Fukuchi’s Yowayowa Sensei is premiering in April! Apart from revealing the adaptation and it’s premiere date, the anime’s production team revealed some of the anime’s staff and voice cast. They also released a visual for the upcoming rom-com, ecchi series.
While the full voice and production cast have not been revealed, the anime’s official website credits studio Brain’s Base (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU’s first season) with the adaptation. The website lists the following cast and voice actors
- Hiroshi Ishidori — Director
- Yoshifumi Fukushima — Series Composition
- Naoki Aisaka — Character Designs
- Akifumi Rada & Rina Tayama — Music Production
- Kakeru Hanato (Seong-Cheol Yun in Solo Leveling) as Akihito Abikura.
- Marika Kouno (Mahiro Oyama in Onimai) as Hiyori Hiwamura. Kouno-san is reprising this role as she originally voiced Hiyori in a promotional video.
The anime’s adaptation was announced in December 2024.
Yowayowa Sensei Details
Kamio Fukuchi, the manga’s author and illustrator, started Yowayowa Sensei in November 2022. Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine has serialized the manga ever since and compiled it into 15 volumes.
When asked about their feelings on the upcoming anime, the mangakan stated, “I am very grateful for this valuable opportunity! I think it would be wonderful if the characters reached more people and those come to love them! Please look forward to the broadcast starting in April of next year!”
Synopsis
No one can deny that Hiyori Hiwamura is a heart-stopping beauty. But Hiwa-chan’s demeanor betrays her attractive looks. Despite being a meek person, Hiyori’s expressions and mannerisms make her seem belligerent and unapproachable. Her perceived antagonism is so great that when she becomes a high school teacher, her students nickname her “Yowa Yowa Sensei” (scary, scary sensei).
Hiyori seems doomed to spend her teaching career with an undeserved reputation. But when her student Akihito Abikura sees the caring and clumsy person hiding behind Hiyori’s prickly demeanor, he sets out to correct his classmate’s impression of their sensei. Little did he know that his kindness would be the beginning of a sordid romance.
