KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!) is a light novel series written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. It debuted in 2013 and ended in 2020 with a total of 17 volumes. The series has since expanded into multiple spin-offs, side stories, and the popular anime adaptation.
The anime adaptation has been handled by multiple studios over the years.
- Studio DEEN produced the first two seasons of the TV anime.
- Studio Drive took over for the 2023 Megumin-focused spin-off, KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! and the third season of the main anime.
- J.C. Staff was responsible for the 2019 anime movie, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! Legend of Crimson.
Crunchyroll streams the anime, describing the story as follows:
After an unfortunate traffic accident, Kazuma Sato finds himself in front of a goddess named Aqua. She offers him the chance to be reincarnated in a fantasy world, allowing him to bring one thing of his choice. Instead of picking a powerful item, Kazuma chooses Aqua herself. The two are transported to a new world filled with adventure, where Kazuma wants nothing more than a peaceful life—but Aqua has other plans, and the looming threat of the Demon King won’t make things easy for them.
