The broadcast date of the previously announced Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (Roshidere) Season 2 is delayed from 2026 to 2027. The staff mentioned that the reason for the delay is to improve the quality of the anime series further. They also apologized to all the fans who had been eagerly awaiting the scheduled release this year.
Doga Kobo animated the first season with Ryota Ito as director and scriptwriter. Yuhei Murota designed the characters and also serves as the chief animation director. Hiroaki Tsutsumi composed the music. The main cast includes:
- Sumire Uesaka as Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou
- Kohei Amasaki as Masachika Kuze
- Wakana Maruoka as Yuki Suou
- Yukiyo Fuji as Maria Mikhailovna Kujou
- Saya Aizawa as Ayano Kimishima
The anime is based on a light novel by SunSunSun and illustrated by Momoco. There’s also a manga adaptation by Saho Tenamachi. Yen Press licensed the novel and manga in English.
The romantic comedy story follows Masachika Kuze, a genius with a sad past, as he sits next to a Russian beauty who flirts with him in Russian. She has no idea that he actually understands the language, leading to some awkward moments for Masachika. There is also his sister, Yuki Suo, who shares the past but still openly expresses her love for her brother and causes even more awkward situations for everyone.
