Did you know that wishing upon a shooting star is the best way to gain your childhood friend’s love? You didn’t?! Well, luckily for you, Marika’s Love Meter Malfunction is coming this April to show you! And as a hype-up to the release, the production team has released a visual, a trailer, and additional project news. It was also revealed that AnimeFesta will premiere the anime’s first episode early on March 13. The anime’s full broadcast will being on April 5.
Studio LEO, known mainly for erotica and hentai titles, will animate the TV anime adaptation. Sumito Sasaki (Ren Arisugawa Is Actually a Girl, Marry Me, Let’s Have a Baby!) will direct the anime. Marika-chan no Koukando wa Bukkowareteiru‘s voice cast includes

Marika’s Love Meter Malfunction Deets
Suiseisha has serialized Marika-chan no Koukando wa Bukkowareteiru on various websites since its April 2024 debut. A print version of the manga will be released in April 2026. The manga’s English version is available on the MangaPlaza website. Rin Komugi writes and illustrates the series.
Kanata Kitami has always loved his childhood friend Marika. But he has always wondered if she feels the same. After all, Marika has always been affectionate and kind towards him. But that doesn’t necessarily translate into a romantic attraction. Desperate to get her love, Kanata wishes on a shooting star. And while the shooting star grants him a way to fulfill his wish, it’s not what he expected; a “love meter” appears next to the girls around him. But his dreams of cuddling up to Marika are dashed when he sees that her love meter is woefully low when she’s with him. Or is it?
