The previously announced original anime Inherit the Winds revealed a new trailer along with a January 2027 premiere at AnimeJapan 2026. Additionally, Nichika Omori will voice Kurosuke.

Yutaka Narui is credited as the original creator and is also in charge of writing the script. Live2D Creative Studio (Tono to Inu) and Drive (KonoSuba: God’s blessing on this wonderful world! Season 3, Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister) are animating the series with Tomohiro Kawamura (Miru: Paths To My Future) as the director. Fumi Ebina is designing the characters, and Shigeru Kishida (Real Girl opening theme song) is composing the music. The cast includes:
- Daisuke Sakuma (Snow Man member) as Tachikawa Jinsuke
- Yuki Kaji as Okita Soji
- Aoi Yuki as Koganei Hyōgo
- Koki Uchiyama as Hijikata Toshizo
- Yuichi Nakamura as Kondō Isami
The original anime story follows Jinsuke Tachikawa, a young man with no memory of his past, and is brought to the Mibu Roshigumi headquarters in Kyoto in June 1863. Welcomed by assistant captain Okita Soji and given a new name, Jinsuke begins life as a member of the corps.
