Good Smile Company has announced Beast King Warrior God DANDIVINE, a brand-new original mecha anime scheduled to premiere in October 2026. The series serves as the first entry in the company’s newly launched God of Combined Series project, a long-term initiative centered on original combining mecha anime and toy lines.
Produced by LIDENFILMS and Kayac Animation, the anime is directed by Cao Yi, with Toshiki Inoue in charge series composition and scripts. The character designs are based on original concepts by Majiro, with animation character designs by robin. An (GOD BRAVE STUDIO) is credited with the mecha designs. Yoshikazu Iwanami serves as sound director.
The series takes place 20 years after the legendary combining robot DANDIVINE defeated the mysterious enemy known as the Aposdolls. In the present day, the robot has become little more than a nostalgic memory, while the toy manufacturer that once built its popularity struggles to stay afloat.
Takuma Terashima voices protagonist Gekiha Shijima, with Haruka Shiraishi as Akane Kusumi and Saya Aizawa as Gekiha’s younger sister, Kirei Shijima.
The announcement was made during a dedicated presentation event held on June 3, where Good Smile Company executives outlined ambitious plans for the broader God of Combined Series initiative. According to company chairman Takanori Aki, the goal is not to create a single robot anime, but to establish a continuing franchise that will introduce a new combining robot series every year.
The company revealed that development is already underway for future installments planned for 2027 and 2028, with each project built around a different interpretation of the combining robot concept.
Veteran writer Toshiki Inoue also shared an unusual detail about DANDIVINE’s protagonist. Rather than creating a larger-than-life hero, Inoue intentionally designed Gekiha as what he described as “a completely boring guy.”
“This time I wanted the protagonist to be nothing more than a handsome guy, so I made him thoroughly boring. Viewers will wonder, ‘Is this guy ever going to become interesting?’ But he doesn’t. That’s what makes him interesting.”
In addition to the anime, a manga adaptation was also announced and will begin serialization in Monthly Dengeki Daioh.
