The Fall 2021 anime season is well underway, and isekai fans might like to know which shows they can watch after the stacked summer isekai lineup. Here are 5 isekai shows for this season, whether sequels or new entries:
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Part 2
Starting with my favorite isekai of Fall 2021, Mushoku Tensei is a show that seemed (to me) like a potential Anime of the Year 2021 just from its trailers and backstory. Studio Bind delivered an impressive adaptation, and it eventually ranked as the best new anime of Winter 2021 with our fans. That was just the 1st cour, and now it’s here again after a 2-season break!

When a 34-year-old underachiever gets run over by a bus, his story doesn’t end there. Reincarnated in a new world as an infant, Rudy will seize every opportunity to live the life he’s always wanted. The Faraway Paladin
Originally an isekai light novel heavily influenced by Mushoku Tensei, The Faraway Paladin anime is airing in the same Fall 2021 season. It follows a reincarnated boy William, as he lives and grows with 3 undead: a mummy, a skeleton, and a ghost. Having read only the 1st volume so far, I can say that it felt well written and its magic system seems really creative. Studio Children’s Playground Entertainment is in charge of the production, and the synopsis goes:
In the ruined city of the dead far from human civilization lives a single human child named Will. He is raised by three undead: Blood the heroic skeleton warrior, Mary the ladylike mummy priestess, and Gus the crotchety ghost wizard. The three of them teach the boy what they know and pour their love into him. One day, the boy begins to wonder, “Who am I?” Will uncovers the mysteries of the undead hidden in this faraway land. He learns of the love and mercy of good gods, as well as the paranoia and madness of evil gods. And once he learns it all, the boy embarks on the path to becoming a Paladin.

The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat
From the author of Redo of Healer, Tsukiyo Rui, The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat is another isekai story getting an anime. However, this one is nothing like the controversial previous work coming from the author and is way more tame. Studio SILVER LINK. and Studio Palette are in charge of the production, while Yen Press describes the story:
The greatest assassin on Earth knew only how to live as a tool for his employers—until they stopped letting him live. Reborn by the grace of a goddess into a world of swords and sorcery, he’s offered a chance to do things differently this time around, but there’s a catch…He has to eliminate a super-powerful hero who will bring about the end of the world unless he is stopped. Now known as Lugh Tuatha Dé, the master assassin certainly has his hands full, particularly because of all the beautiful girls who constantly surround him. The Fruit of Evolution ~Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made~
An overweight boy gets isekaid with his entire class. Then a gorilla attacks him. They find a fruit and both eat it, which turns to be the ‘Fruit of Evolution”, and it advances them to the point of being attractive. Then the story follows the duo in a rom-com style in the new world. Studios Children’s Playground Entertainment and feel. are in charge of the production, and the story goes:
Hiiragi Seiichi is an ugly, revolting, dirty, smelly fat; these are the insults hurled at him one after another about his appearance. Such was Seiichi’s daily school life of bullying, then for some reason, one day when school was out, a voice claiming to be a God said over the PA system to prepare to be transported to another world. What’s more, not Seiichi alone, but the entire school. A fantasy world where game-like elements such as as levels, stats, and skills exist.
However, the God still had preparations to complete for the transfer, and would send them over as soon as the hero summoning ritual was ready. The classes all formed groups to wait for the transfer, but Seiichi alone was discluded and as such was summoned to a different area. After being transported the first thing Seiichi ate was the “Fruit of Evolution”. This would come to greatly change his life —- This story is about how Seiichi went from being severely bullied by his classmates, even not being recognized for his accomplishments, and despite all that staying positive and surviving in this new world. As a result, he somehow becomes one of the champions.

Isekai Restaurant Season 2
The 2nd sequel in this list, Isekai Restaurant came back after over 4 years, with new characters and dishes. Crunchyroll streams the show, and they describe the story:
There is a certain restaurant in the first basement level of a multi-tenant building in one corner of a shopping street near the office district. The historical restaurant, marked by a sign with a picture of a cat, is called “Western Cuisine Nekoya.” This restaurant looks completely normal through the week, but on Saturdays, it opens in secret exclusively to some very unique guests. During these hours, doors in various areas of a parallel world open to allow customers of many different races and cultures into the restaurant.
