Rikekoi Season 2 Reveals Full Title, Premieres in 2022

On September 16, Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It (Rikekoi) revealed the full title for its season 2. It’s “Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumei Shite Mita. r=1-sinθ”. It plays with the fact that the graph of the function r=1-sinθ actually looks like a heart. There aren’t many details about the sequel, but it was previously revealed that it will release in 2022. You can watch the latest trailer:

The series first released back in January 2020, and had one cour. It’s a romantic comedy focusing on a couple dedicated to science. They conduct experiments to test how and why their emotions occur. Studio Zero-G handled the production, and Crunchyroll streamed the first season.

Rikekoi Synopsis

What happens when a science-inclined girl and boy who are deeply passionate about research fall in love?

An intelligent woman named Himuro Ayame who is a science graduate student at Saitama University happens to ask fellow science graduate student Yukimura Shinya out.

Of course, there’s no logical reason for this love! But as a science and engineering major, not being able to logically prove love would mean that those feelings aren’t real, and they’d fail as a science student. With that in mind, the two drag everyone else in the lab into trying various experiments to prove love actually exists.

Dating experiments, the pursuit of a componential explanation for “love”, measuring heart rate, and defining mood value…

There are plenty of laughs and heart-racing moments in this scientific romantic comedy where these loveable and unique science students try to prove that love logically exists! (Crunchyroll)

Although we only have the title for now, 2022 is not far away anymore, and we should know more about season 2 of Rikekoi soon!
