Futsal Boys anime revealed a new trailer and a release date – January 2022. The anime, which was previously delayed, is a part of the mix-media project by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Bandai Namco Arts, and diomedea.
The mix-media project, stylized as Futsal Boys!!!!!, includes anime, game, and real-life futsal matches between voice actors which will determine the outcome of the storyline.
In addition to the trailer, the Futsal Boys anime also revealed the opening theme and the artist for the ED. Takao Sakuma is performing the OP “BRAVEMAKER”, while R.O.N’s STEREO DIVE FOUNDATION is in charge of the ED.
The anime follows Haru Yamato, who enrolls in Koyo Gakuen High School. Haru is a fan of futsal because he admires a player he saw during the U-18 World Cup. Feeling inspired, he joins the school’s futsal club, meets his teammates and makes friends while trying to achieve his dreams.
Futsal Boys Cast
The anime shares the voice cast with the game and includes some new names in the industry. Ryouta Takara (Haru) is one of them and he says that he decided to become a voice actor after watching Sword Art Online and admiring Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. Ryotaro Yamaguchi, who voices Tsubaki Yukinaga, is another anime newcomer, after having previously done voice acting mainly for games. Shouto Ishimori (Sakaki Seiichiro) is also having his debut in the Futsal Boys franchise.
In addition, Yasunao Sakai (Taiga), Seiichirou Yamashita (Satoru), Kouhei Yoshiwara (Toi), and Kazuki Furuta (Ryu) are also starring in the anime, as part of the main cast – Koyo School Club.
Anime Staff
The series is an original work, animated by diomedea. Yukina Hiiro (Gakuen Heaven) is directing, with Tomomi Ishikawa on character designs. R.O.N. is composing the music, while Shouji Yonemura is doing series composition.
