Gods' Game We Play Gets Anime Adaptation

Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru (Gods’ Game We Play) light novel series from Kei Sazane (Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World) has an anime project in the works. The announcement was made on January 21 but without the staff information.

Kadokawa released a special promotional video for the fourth volume of the light novel (publishing on 25th, 2022), which also states that an anime project is in the works:

Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru (Gods Game We Play) is a web novel series by Kei Sazane, best known for also writing Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World light novel series, which inspired an anime adaptation in the Fall 2020 anime season. Gods Game We Play was published on the Kakuyomu website in 2020. In January 2021, Media Factory started publishing a light novel adaptation with Toiro Tomose’s illustrations. The same publisher is also serializing a manga adaptation by Kapiko Toriumi.

The carefree gods created a game “Kamigami no Asobi”, which means “Play of the Gods”. The former goddess, Leche has a awaken from her slumber. She suddenly wants to meet the best gamer on the current era. Thus, the best rookie, Fay, was chosen to be the representative of humanity. Since gods are very unreasonable and incomprehensible, there is no human who won in the game throughout the history. Though, Fay is intelligent and really loves games and it is also fun to to play challenging games. Thus, the story between Fay and Leche in the ultimate brain game begins.
