Arifureta Season 2 Episode 3 - Tio Steals the Show

Tio finally shows her true nature in episode 3 of Arifureta season 2. Hajime took a direct hit from Freid’s ambush and almost died. Thus, Tio realized that Hajime is still a human and that he is the one who’s the most vulnerable in their party.

Warning: This Section Might Contain Spoilers.

According to Tio’s past, she was the princess of the Dragonborn tribe. However, they became one of God’s enemies, so they were hunted down. Tio’s father protected her and she became the sole survivor of her tribe. According to her father, she must continue hiding until the right time comes. There are no specific details on when the “right time” will be though. It means that it is for Tio to decide when she’ll come out of hiding. Here in episode 3, of Arifureta season 2, it looks like Tio decided that now is the time to do just that.

Tio in her dragon form

Tio revealed her dragon form in order to help Hajime, who is already on the brink of death. Of course, Hajime and the others know that Tio is a dragon, however, Freid is one of God’s apostles. Knowing the risk, Tio has still shown her resolve to save Hajime, which implies that he really means a lot to her.

Tio’s Pain

Tio did her best to live up to Hajime’s expectations. Due to the events from the first episode, we know that Tio is a masochist. This time it’s a bit different as Tio is trying hard to endure the pain to protect her friends.

Tio saying that its Hajime’s fault that she became a masochist

Tio is now trying to come back to Ankaji alone under Hajime’s command. However, I think it is really hard for her to leave her comrades while they are still in the middle of a crisis, but she doesn’t have a choice. All she can do is trust Hajime, Yue, and Shea.

Shizuku Meows

We didn’t get to see the climax of the Gruen Volcano’s battle as we got shown what was going on in Liliana’s castle. It seems that something is troubling her because the soldiers and the king are acting weird. She saw Shizuku, who is usually serious and doesn’t have time for unimportant matters, talking to a cat. Episode 3 of Arifureta season 2 also did a good job of emphasizing that Shizuku loves cute cats. In the light novel, it was only described that she loves cats and there’s an illustration where she is holding a cat. In this episode, Shizuku had cat ears, cat paws, and even whiskers, which made her look like a cat herself.

Shizuku

Unfortunately for Shizuku, Liliana saw her acting up. That said, I don’t think they have the time to joke around as they are currently at war. Liliana went to Shizuku in order to talk about something important. It looks like they will face another crisis in the future episodes of the series. How are they going to deal with it without Hajime?
