SAO: Alicization - War of Underworld English Dub Is Now Available to Stream

The Sword Art Online: Alicization -War of Underworld- anime English dub is now officially available to stream on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Netflix. The anime aired from the Fall 2019 to Summer 2020 anime season and had a total of 23 episodes. The English dub previously aired on Toonami, but this is the first time it is available to stream.

The video features the first opening song of the series titled “Resolution” by Haruka Tomatsu (Japanese VA of Asuna). The English voice cast includes some well-familiar names from the franchise:

The anime is the second half of SAO‘s 3rd season, Sword Art Online: Alicization, which started in 2018. It started with the 25th episode of the Alicization series and ended with the 47th. Manabu Ono (The Irregular at Magic High School) directed the series, while A-1 Pictures (86 -Eighty Six-) animated it.

A new world, unfamiliar memories, and a name that cannot be forgotten. With no recollection of logging in, Kirito finds himself in a brand-new world with mysterious memories of a boy named Eugeo and a young blond girl, Alice. Her name strikes him as important, unforgettable. But why? As he wanders the world for a way to log out, will he stumble upon something even more important than getting home?

Funimation (Alicization -War of Underworld- synopsis)

Season 1 of Sword Art Online aired in 2012, which had a total of 25 episodes. In 2013, a movie titled Sword Art Online: Extra Edition premiered in Japan. Then, the 2nd season of the series aired in 2014 with a total of 24 episodes. After three years, the franchise came back through a movie titled Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale. Tomohiko Ito (ERASED, Hello World) directed all of the seasons, while A-1 Pictures is also the one that took care of the animation. A movie titled Sword Art Online: Progressive -Aria of a Starless Night had a theatrical release in 2021 and a sequel to the movie has also been announced.

Sword Art Online was originally a web novel series written by Reki Kawahara. ASCII Media Works started serializing a light novel adaptation in 2009, and as of now, it has 26 volumes available. Yen Press is publishing the Sword Art Online light novel series in English.
