Summer Time Rendering anime adaptation revealed a preview for episode 1, which will air on April 14 in Japan. The anime will be streaming exclusively on Disney+ and it is still not clear when it will be available overseas.
The first episode is titled “Goodbye, Summer Days” and follows Shinpei who returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima after hearing about the death of his childhood friend, Ushio. Shinpei attends the funeral but is then told by his best friend Hishigata that there is a possibility that Ushio was murdered. Hishigata also claims that Ushio’s sister Mio was killed by someone. On Hitogashima there is a legend that whenever someone sees a shadow that looks like them, they will die. Before she died, Mio saw Ushio’s shadow.
Summer Time Rendering also revealed some preview images for episode 1:

Summer Time Rendering is based on sci-fi, suspense-mystery manga by Yasuki Tanaka. Shounen Jump+ online magazine serialized it from 2017 to 2021. The anime will have 25 episodes, split into two cours. Studio OLM is animating the adaptation.
