The creditless opening sequence for the Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie anime has surpassed 1 million views on YouTube. The anime premiered on April 9, 2022, and the video was uploaded on YouTube right after the broadcast of the first episode.
The official Twitter of the anime also announced the milestone:
Nasuo☆ performed the anime’s opening song titled “Honey Jet Coaster”. The anime currently has 3 episodes, although it faced the risk of postponement after the broadcast of episode 1 because of a COVID-19 outbreak in the production studio. The premiere was already delayed by 1 week due to “organizational reasons”.
Ryota Ito (My Senpai is Annoying) is directing Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie at studio Doga Kobo (Plastic Memories). The series is steaming on Crunchyroll and Muse Asia.

The anime is based on Keigo Maki’s Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie manga series. Kodansha started publishing it in February 2019, and it currently has 12 volumes in circulation. Volume 13 of the manga series will be released on May 9, 2022.
Kodansha USA is also serializing the manga series in English and describes the plot as:
Shikimori and Izumi are high school sweethearts. They hold hands walking home from school, they flirt in the halls, they tease each other. But Shikimori knows what she wants, and how to get it, and she can turn from cutie to cool in an instant.
