The preview for episode 5 of Summer Time Rendering anime is here. The anime is streaming exclusively on Disney+ and is currently airing in Japan. Outside of Japan, it’s available on Disney+ in the SEA region, but the release is not a simulcast.
The official website describes the plot of the upcoming episode as:
Shinpei was saved by the woman he met on the ferry. She introduces herself as a writer named Ryuunosuke Nagumo. Shin is familiar with her work but then she declares she is there to save him and it seems like she knows a lot about shadows.
Meanwhile, a massacre by the shadows is taking place at the summer festival. Shinpei tries to help his friends but they all get killed one after another. Soon, the shadow swallows up everyone on the island…

Summer Time Rendering is based on sci-fi, suspense-mystery manga by Yasuki Tanaka. Shounen Jump+ online magazine serialized it from 2017 to 2021. The anime will have 25 episodes, split into two cours. Studio OLM is animating the adaptation, under Ayumu Watanabe’s direction.
