On 15 August 2020, the upcoming anime movie Free! Vol. 2 released its latest trailer and a new key visual. It was only announced that the movie is slated to premiere on 2021 and no exact release date has been revealed. The film will be produced by Kyoto Animation under the direction of Hiroko Utsumi.
