The latest Doraemon film takes place in an unnamed place, where Doraemon and his friends fly off on a great adventure across the sky in search of a dreamlike utopia. In addition, they are also in search of the Dragon’s Palace that many adventurers have dreamed of. To travel to said place, the team uses a so-called “Time Zeppelin”, an airship with a time warp function.

“The first Doraemon movie was first released in 1980, the year of my birth. It was an honor just to be involved in such a historic film, but to be asked to direct it out of the blue, I must admit that I was surprised before I felt joy or excitement…Together with Ryota Kosawa, who has written many fascinating screenplays, I would like to create a wonderful film that will make everyone look up at the sky with a happy feeling after watching the film.
