Classroom of the Elite Season 2 released a preview trailer and images for episode 3, along with the title and synopsis. The third episode is scheduled for July 18. The title of the episode quotes a phrase from Discours de la méthode (Discourse on the Method) in English, by French philosopher René Descartes: “Les plus grandes âmes sont capables des plus grands vices, aussi bien que des plus grandes vertus.” which translates into “The greatest minds are capable of the greatest vices as well as of the greatest virtues.“
The newly released preview images show some of the main characters: Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, Kei Karuizawa, Teruhiko Yukimura, Honami Ichinose, Tetsuya Hamaguchi, and Shiho Manabe.
The second episode ends with a scene where Karuizawa is being cornered by three Class-C students, and the synopsis of episode 3 describes the situation as:
Karuizawa is upset by Class-C students including Manabe standing around her. Ayanokoji tries to observe the situation calmly, while Yukimura fails to hold back any longer and runs out in front of her. It seems Karuizawa being frightened on an abnormal level provided Ayanokoji with an inspiration…
The author of Classroom of the Elite series, Shogo Kinugasa is writing the scripts for the preview trailers. As the previous episode’s trailer revealed, Kikyo Kushida plays the role of narrator this week. “Horikita-san is really determined to win the special exam on the cruise,” the Class-D student begins and continues: “but her clear lack of competence will be getting exposed.” After all the biased, pseudo narration finishes, Horikita points out that Kushida just wanted to make fun of her instead of introducing the plot of the next episode. “Oh, you noticed it now?” Kushida replies. “You are the type of person who can’t make ‘real’ friends with anyone,” Horikita reacts. Kushida, however, says thanks and points out that they are the same. And then Horikita concludes the 54-second long video with the episode title:
Shogo Kinugasa writes Classroom of the Elite light novel series with art by Shunsaku Tomose. The novel currently consists of two parts, Year 1 and Year 2. Classroom of the Elite Season 2 is covering Year 1. Studio Lerche is animating.
