The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Episode 1 Preview Released

The preview for episode 1 of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten anime has been released. The episode will air on January 7 at 22:30 (JST). Lihua Wang is directing the series with Project No.9 animating it.

The first episode will focus on Amane Fujimiya and Mahiru Shiina, the show’s main characters, and how they met. Fujimiya lives alone in his apartment and admits to not being able to socialize with other people. One day, as he walks home from school, he sees Shiina–the school’s most beautiful girl in school–soaking wet in the rain.

He then lends his umbrella to Shiina, and as a result, Fujimiya catches a cold the next day due to staying in the rain. And while the two had no previous interaction, Shiina decides to visit Fujimiya to help with household chores, and there begins their relationship.

A trailer before the series’ airing has also been released. Check it out:

The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten anime is based on a light novel series written by Saekisan and illustrated by Hanekoto. It is currently published by SB Creative, and is still running since June 2019. It then received a manga adaptation with art by Wan Shibata in January 2022, published under Square Enix. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime outside of Japan.

Yen Press is publishing the light novel in English, describing it as:
Mahiru is a beautiful girl whose classmates all call her an “angel.” Not only is she a star athlete with perfect grades—she’s also drop-dead gorgeous. Amane‚ an average guy and self-admitted slob‚ has never thought much of the divine beauty‚ despite attending the same school. Everything changes, however‚ when he happens to see Mahiru sitting alone in a park during a rainstorm. Thus begins the strange relationship between this incredibly unlikely pair!
