Noriaki Akitaya is directing the Ayakashi Triangle anime at studio Connect. The show will be streamable on Crunchyroll. The anime is based on Kentaro Yabuki’s Ayakashi Triangle manga series. Kentaro Yabuki is also famous for his other work, To Love Ru. Shueisha has been serializing Ayakashi Triangle since 2020, and it currently has 12 volumes in circulation. The manga was published on Weekly Shonen Jump from June 15, 2020, until April 18, 2022. The serialization continued on April 25, 2022, on Shonen Jump +. Viz Media licensed the Ayakashi Triangle manga series and describes the plot as:
Teenage exorcist ninja Matsuri has his hands full protecting his town from harmful ayakashi. But all that exorcising has hardened his heart to the playful and helpless ones. Enter Suzu, Matsuri’s childhood friend who has a crush on him, and who calls ayakashi her friends. But one day, when Suzu is attacked by a powerful ayakashi, Matsuri ends up magically transformed into a girl! The jutsu is permanent, so now he has two challenges—defeat the growing number of ayakashi targeting Suzu and learn how to live as a girl! Is he man, or woman, enough for the task?
