The upcoming Love Live Sunshine‘s spin-off anime Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror– revealed six additional cast members: Hekiru Shiina as Yohane’s mother, Rie Kugimiya as Chika’s mother, Kana Asumi as Shima, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Tsuki, Kanae Itou as Mito, and M・A・O as Kohaku. An announcement video for the cast was also released.
Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror– was originally posted as an April Fools’ day joke in 2022. The Love Live franchise made an official announcement for the anime adaptation during the second day of the Aqours 6th live concert in June 2022 at Tokyo Dome. Bandai Namco Arts (previously Sunrise) is animating the anime under the direction of Asami Nakatani. Toshiya Ono is supervising the scripts, Tatsuya Kato is composing the music, and Yumiko Yamamoto is in charge of character designs. The series unveiled its first trailer last week. The cast of Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror– spin-off anime includes:

- Ai Furihata as Ruby
- Anju Inami as Chika

- Nanaka Suwa as Kanan

Love Live Sunshine’s spin-off anime will adapt the manga written by Hajime Yatate and Sakurako Kimino with illustrations provided by Matsuda Kouta. The story revolves around the daily life of Yohane (Yoshiko Tsushima) in a fantasy world that takes place in Numazu, a beautiful port town surrounded by seas and mountains.
