Rick and Morty TV Anime Will Premiere in 2023, To Stream on Max

The previously announced Rick and Morty: The Anime TV series will officially premiere in 2023, and it will be streaming on Adult Swim and Max, a platform which Warner Bros. Discovery is also launching this year. The anime will be a 10-episode spin-off, and it will be directer by the Tower of God director Takashi Sano at studio Telecom Animation Film. A teaser visual has been released:

The series will adapt material from the main series, but Rick and Morty: The Anime is also set to have its own standing a an original work. Sano commented:

The multiverse-straddling exploits of Rick and the gang pose challenges to the family bond, but they always rise to the occasion. It’s such a life affirming sight, and Jerry is no exception. I am honored to have been given an opportunity to tell a new story about this amazing family. I hope you enjoy their adventures!Takashi Sano

The new streaming service will launch on May 23 and give consumers access to a large combined library of content, including Warner Bros., HBO, HGTV, Food Network, Cartoon Network, TLC, etc.

Max subscribers will have three price tiers to choose from. The basic version will cost $9.99 per month and include ads. The medium ad-free version will cost $15.99 per month and allow streaming on two devices at once and downloading up to 30 titles (without 4K). The most expensive plan will cost $19.99 per month and allow streaming on up to 4 devices at once, up to a 100 downloads, Dolby Atmos sound and 4K.

Besides the Rick and Morty: The Anime TV series, more stuff will most likely premiere on Max this year.
