After a crowdfunding campaign that started last year, Dropkick on My Devil anime announced that a new special episode will be coming our way this winter. The campaign raised 115 million yen (over 385% of the goal). The new episode is titled Dropkick on My Devil!! -End of Century Edition- and the official announcement in the trailer says it is coming in the winter of 2023:
Studio Makaria will be animating the special. The town of Takamori is also supporting the production. Part of the story is also set there: Jashin-chan heads to Takamori to find Yurine after aliens destroy Jinbocho.
Dropkick on My Devil (stylized as Dropkick on My Devil!) anime is based on a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yukiwo. The first season of the anime was animated by the studio Nomad and aired from July to September 2018. An additional episode followed in October of the same year. The second season aired in the Spring 2020 anime season, and a third season, titled Dropkick on My Devil!!! X was broadcast from July to September 2022.
The first season is available on Amazon Prime, while Crunchyroll licensed the second (titled Dash) and the third. Amazon describes the plot as:
Jashin-chan, a devil from Hell was abruptly summoned to the human world by Yurine Hanazono, a stoic college student who lives in a run-down apartment in Jinbocho. They’re forced to become roommates since Yurine doesn’t know how to send Jashin-chan back. But according to Jashin-chan, she could return by killing Yurine, so she takes action…?! A viperous roomie comedy that keeps you on your toes!
