Baki Hanma Season 2 Gets First Trailer and Key Visual, to Release in Two Parts

Netflix has released the first trailer and key visual for the Baki Hanma Season 2 anime, which will be released over parts this summer. Part 1 is titled The Tale of Pickle & The Pickle War Saga, and it will be released on July 26, while part 2 titled The Father VS Son Saga will be released on August 24. Watch the trailer:

Two new cast members are joining the anime. Takeshi Kusao will be voicing Pickle, while Nobuo Tobita will be voicing Albert Payne. Check out the first key visual:

The theme songs’ titles and artists were also announced. Wagakki Band will perform the opening song titled “The Beast” while UPSTART will perform the ending song titled “WILDER.” TMS Entertainment is animating, and the staff includes Toshiki Hirano as the director, Tatsuhiko Urahata as the series composer, Shingo Ishikawa as the character designer, and Kenji Fujisawa on the music. Netflix describes the story:

Keisuke Itagaki wrote and illustrated the original manga. It ran from 1991 to 1999 in Weekly Shōnen Champion, and was collected into 42 volumes. There were 3 sequel manga series, Baki, Baki Hanma and Baki-Dou, all of which ran in the same magazine. Lastly, the 5th series, also titled Baki-Dou (but romanized differently), started in October 2018.

The latest reboot began in 2018 with Baki, which ran for 26 episodes and was animated by Double Eagle and TMS Entertainment. Baki: The Great Raitai Tournament Saga followed in Spring of 2020. Baki Hanma (also known as Baki: Son of Ogre) is the third installment of the reboot, and Baki Hanma Season 2 will be picking up right after the first season.
