Detectives These Days Are Crazy revealed a new character trailer, this time spotlighting Azuha Hoshino. The main visual and trailer were recently revealed for the anime, which is set to release in July 2025. Studio LIDEN FILMS is behind the animation production.

The anime stars Junichi Suwabe as Keiichiro Nagumo and Kana Hanazawa as Mashiro, with the rest of the voice cast including Tomohiro Yamaguchi, Aya Hirano, Tomokazu Sugita, Kengo Kawanishi, Fairouz Ai, Misaki Watada, and Yasuyuki Kase. Rion Kujo is the director, with series composition by Rintaro Ikeda, character design and chief animation direction by Isoroku Koga, and music composed by Tomoki Kikuya.
Masakuni Igarashi writes and draws the Detectives These Days Are Crazy (Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara) Japanese manga, which features illustrations by Masakuni Igarashi. It has been serialized in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh seinen manga magazine since April 2016, with 15 volumes released as of August 27, 2024. One Peace Books is publishing it in English.
The story follows Keiichiro Nagumo, a former famous detective now living a quiet, mundane life. One day, Mashiro, a high school girl, asks to become his assistant. Despite their age and lifestyle differences, the two team up to solve tough cases. Together, they create unexpected miracles as a unique detective duo.
