Black Bullet: New World Order Announced, Novel Series Returns After 12 Years

Black Bullet is officially returning with a new project titled Black Bullet: New World Order, marking the series’ first major revival in 12 years.

The new installment will begin publication in November 2026, with two volumes scheduled to release simultaneously. The series will then continue with three more releases over the next three months. The announcement also confirms that the story will move into a new chapter, although plot details have not yet been revealed.

A special announcement video featuring Yuki Kaji and Rina Hidaka has also been released. Kaji and Hidaka previously voiced Rentaro Satomi and Enju Aihara in the anime adaptation.

The schedule of the new volumes is:

• November 2026: Black Bullet: New World Order 01 – Those Who Aim to Become Gods and New World Order 02 – VS the Sniper of Divine Strategy
• December 2026: New World Order 03, split into an upper volume, The Destruction of the World by Flame, and lower volume, Vengeance Is Mine
• January 2027: New World Order 04, split into Fugitive: Rentaro Satomi and The Wanderer of Purgatory
• February 2027: New World Order 05, split into Re: The Bullet of World Transformation and Justice & Injustice

Black Bullet is a Japanese light novel series written by Shiden Kanzaki and illustrated by Saki Ukai. It was published under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint, running from July 2011 to April 2014, and releasing a total of 7 volumes. A manga adaptation by Morinohon began serialization in Dengeki Maoh in August 2012, running until June 2014 and releasing 4 volumes. Yen Press licensed both the light novel and manga in English.

An anime adaptation was produced by Kinema Citrus and Orange, with Masayuki Kojima as the director. It aired in Japan from April to July 2014 with 13 episodes and was streamed internationally by Crunchyroll. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North America. The voice cast included Rina Hidaka as Enju Aihara, Yuki Kaji as Rentaro Satomi, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Tina Sprout, Yui Horie as Kisara Tendo, Rikiya Koyama as Kagetane Hiruko.

Crunchyroll describes the story:
In the year 2021, mankind was defeated by Gastrea, a parasitical virus, and is forced to live within a wall made of Varanium Monoliths, a metal that is able to subdue Gastrea. Soon, the “Cursed Children”, children born with the Gastrea virus who are able to control it—which gives them superhuman abilities—were discovered. Due to the Gastrea virus’ intervention, the Cursed Children could only be female. Civil Securities are formed to specialize in fighting against Gastrea, operating with the pair of an Initiator, who are cursed children, and a Promoter, serving to lead the cursed children.
