Chisato Nishikigi from Lycoris Recoil was voted as the best girl of the Summer 2022 anime season, with votes from 41,359 people. The character was a clear favorite throughout the season, and her main competition was probably Takina from the same anime, along with Kei Karuizawa from Classroom of the Elite, both of who placed in the top 3. Chisato was the protagonist in Lycoris Recoil, who has the talent of a murderer but chooses not to be one. She has an artificial heart, and her journey throughout the anime kept the fans unsure whether she would make it out alive. The original anime by A-1 Pictures was also voted as the Best Anime of Summer 2022, with votes from over 43,000 people. Crunchyroll streams it, and the official synopsis goes:
