Dan Da Dan Reveals Theme Song by Creepy Nuts in New Trailer

Dan Da Dan anime revealed a new trailer featuring the opening theme song “Otonoke” by Creepy Nuts. “Taidada” by Zutomayo is the ending song. The anime premieres on October 3. A theatrical screening of the first three episodes under the First Encounter title is slated for September.

Science SARU is animating the Dan Da Dan (also known as Dandadan) adaptation, under Fuga Yamashiro’s direction. Naoyuki Onda is in charge of the character designs and Hiroshi Seko is doing the series composition. The anime had an exclusive world premiere this July at Anime Expo. The main cast includes:

  • Shion Wakayama / Abby Trott as Momo
  • Natsuki Hanae / AJ Beckles as Okarun
  • Nana Mizuki as Seiko
  • Ayane Sakura as Aira
  • Kaito Ishikawa as Jiji
  • Kazuya Nakai as Serpoians
  • Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo Granny

Shion Wakayama and Natsuki Hanae are leading the cast as Momo and Ken. GKIDS describes the plot as:
DAN DA DAN follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult freak. The two of them start talking after Momo rescues Okarun from getting bullied. However, an argument ensues between them – Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. To make the mutual deniers believe in each other, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for its UFO sightings, and Okarun goes to a tunnel that is said to be haunted. In each place, they encounter overwhelming paranormal activity that transcends comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to challenge the paranormal forces! Their fateful love begins as well!?
The story of the occult battle and adolescence starts!

Dan Da Dan was among the recently leaked titles from Netflix’s lineup.
