A new visual has been revealed along with the main cast and staff for the upcoming Danjo no Yujo wa Seiritsu suru? (Iya, Shinai!!) (Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Hold Up? (No, It Can’t!!)) anime on Tuesday. Voice actress Sayumi Suzushiro will star in the series as Himari Inuzuka and Kikunosuke Toya will voice Yu Natsume. The series is slated to premiere in April 2025.
Studio J.C. Staff is animating with Youhei Suzuki as the director of the series. Yaemorinozu is handling the series composition while Natsuki Oyama is designing the characters. The anime previously unveiled a teaser visual last August.
The anime is based on a light novel series written by Nana Nanana with illustrations provided by Parum. It has been published under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko label since January 2021 and currently has 10 volumes in circulation. A manga adaptation illustrated by Kamelie was launched in August 2021 and has four volumes available.
The story is described as follows:
Danjo no Yujo wa Seiritsu suru? (Iya, Shinai!!) is a coming-of-age love comedy about two high school students, the cheerful girl Himari Inuzuka, and the flower-loving boy Yu Natsume, who pledged eternal friendship in junior high school. The two had been best friends since junior high, but their destiny is thrown out of whack when Yu reunites with his first love from the past.
