Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord: Production Magic Turns a Nameless Village into the Strongest Fortified City anime revealed a key visual and a trailer featuring the ending theme song “Make It” by Nonoka Obuchi. Four additional voice cast members were also announced:
- Makoto Furukawa as Ortho Sheet
- Wakana Kuramochi as Pluriel
- Gen Sato as Kusala
- Nonoka Obuchi as Lada Priora
Studio NAZ is animating with Tetsuya Tatamitani as director. Yutaka Yasunaga is in charge of the series script, and Kana Utatane is composing the music. The voice cast consists of:
- Yumi Uchiyama as Van
- M・A・O as Till
- Mariya Ise as Khamsin
- Yoko Hikasa as Panamera
- Shion Wakayama as Arte
- Kenyu Horiuchi as Esparda
- Chikahiro Kobayashi as Dee
The anime is based on a light novel by Sou Akaike, with illustrations by Kururi. Maro Aoiro also illustrates a manga adaptation. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the novel and manga in English. They describe the former as:
Van, fourth son of a marquis, is just a toddler when he realizes he’s been reincarnated. Thanks to his literal lifetime of knowledge, he’s raised as a child prodigy—until his production magic manifests, and it’s the last thing his snooty mage family wants to see! His disappointed father banishes him to a podunk town on the verge of collapse, yet Van can only see the place’s potential. Can our hero’s bastion of battlements build a better life than battle magic ever could?!
