Funimation Returns to New York Comic Con in October

Funimation celebrates its return to New York Comic Con, with a variety of events and panels. The event takes place October 7-10 in New York.

Highlights of the event will include panels about My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission and Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. My Hero Academia event will take place on Friday, October 8, and will feature a special preview ahead of the English premiere. Additionally, the official website for Dragon Ball announced a booth for the franchise, featuring a discussion panel for the new movie.

Demon Slayer panel will host the English dub cast on Saturday, October 9. The cast will discuss their favorite moments from the movie. Aleks Le (Zenitsu), Abby Trott (Nezuko), Landon McDonald (Enmu), and Lucien Dodge (Akaza – Upper Three) are expected to make an appearance. The event will also feature a special video message from Zach Aguilar (Tanjiro), Bryce Papenbrook (Inosuke), and Mark Whitten (Rengoku).

The Program

Funimation kicks off their first day of NYCC on October 7 with Sakura Park. Sakura Park is a manifestation of a Japanese-inspired anime fantasy. “Relaxation and finding zen” is the goal of the event, which invites guests to escape the shuffle and take a breather, while still enjoying NYCC activities.

October 7 is also when the Animation Happens Here panel takes place. The panelists will discuss hot anime topics, such as new Fall shows, and hit series, as well as Funimation co-productions.

Funimation is also hosting a one-night Subscriber-only celebration of anime at NYC’s premier rooftop bar at The Press Lounge, on October 7. The event is free on a first-come, first-serve basis with limited capacity. Attendees must RSVP and be over 21 years of age. NYCC badge, Funimation subscription, as well as proof of COVID-19 vaccination are required to enter.

If you can’t make it to the NYCC, Funimation will be sharing the experience on their online social media.
