The Fureru (Touch) movie revealed a new trailer ahead of the October 4 premiere date in Japan. The new trailer features the theme song “Monotone” by YOASOBI and gives new insights into the plot:
The movie was created by Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, The Anthem of the Heart, and Her Blue Sky creators: Tatsuyuki Nagai is the director, Mari Okada is the scriptwriter, and Masayoshi Tanaka is the character designer. Studio CloverWorks of the animation. YOASOBI is performing the theme song, titled The main cast includes:
- Ren Nagase as Aki Onoda
- Ryota Bando as Ryo Sobue
- Kentao Maeda as Yuta Inohara
- Haruka Shiraishi as Juri Kamozawa
- Manaka Iwami as Nana Asakawa
- Sarutoki Minagawa as Wakita
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Kohei Shimada
Aniplex and STORY inc. are producing the movie, which will be distributed by Toho and Aniplex. The movie teased the return of the trio that is known for its “heart-shaking” trilogy (Anohana, Her Blue Sky, The Anthem of the Heart). Last week, the movie announced nine new cast additions who have all voiced characters in the trilogy:
- Ai Kayano (Menma from Anohana)
- Takahiro Sakurai (Yukiatsu from Anohana)
- Mutsumi Tamura (young Jintan from Anohana)
- Asami Seto (young Yukiatsu from Anohana)
- Aki Toyosaki (young Poppo from Anohana)
- Mitsuru Ogata (Atsushi Yadomi from Anohana)
- Shion Wakayama (Aoi Aioi from Her Blue Sky)
- Inori Minase (Jun Naruse from The Anthem of the Heart)
- Koki Uchiyama (Takumi Sakagami from The Anthem of the Heart)
This will be Nagai’s first major directorial work since A Certain Scientific Railgun T in 2020. In addition to the aforementioned movies and the Railgun series, he is known for Honey and Clover II and Toradora. Masayoshi Tanaka and Mari Okada also worked on Toradora. Tanaka’s major works include the hit movies Your Name, Weathering With You, and Suzume, while Okada is known for her work on Black Butler, Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms, and O Maidens in Your Savage Season. Her latest movie, Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou, premiered in Japan last year and is now available to stream on Netflix, where it dropped on January 15.
