A new Gundam animation project has been announced titled Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance. The announcement came during the ongoing Anime Expo 2023 event, and the project will be fully animated using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 technology. A visual and trailer has been released as well.
Erasmus Brosdau (The Lord Inquisitor: Seed of Ambition; Origin Zero; Altered Carbon: Resleeved) is directing the project while Gavin Hignight (Tekken: Bloodline; Gen: Lock; Star Wars Resistance) will be writing the script. Meanwhile, Celia Massingham (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Ladies in Black) voices the lead character and performed the motion capture for animation. Naohiro Ogata (Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway, Mobile Suit Gundam: NT – Narrative, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is also involved in the series.

Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance first came to light when users pointed out that the title was registered as a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on May 26 this year. It was registered alongside another Gundam-related trademark titled Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom.
Gundam is a Japanese mix-media franchise that focuses on mecha robots, created by Sunrise and Yoshiyuki Tomino. The franchise officially premiered on April 7, 1979, with the Mobile Suit Gundam anime series. In addition to the popular anime series and spin-offs, the franchise also has manga, novels, video games, and toys.
