HoYoverse has officially unveiled Nodusfall, a new co-op action game set in an original fantasy world drawing inspiration from multiple mythological traditions. The game made its world premiere during Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live on August 25, along with its first announcement trailer.
Unlike the anime-style presentation associated with titles such as Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, Nodusfall uses a more realistic visual style. Its world incorporates creatures and concepts inspired by mythology from different cultures, ranging from beasts rooted in Eastern traditions to Western dragons. HoYoverse says additional regions will introduce their own ecology, cultures and histories as players progress.
The story takes place after divine authority has collapsed and the arrival of mysterious entities known as the Dreadnodi has spread corruption throughout the world, including among its legendary creatures. Players take on the role of Weavers, beings connected to the divine who are tasked with confronting the corruption, severing the Dreadnodi at their roots and restoring order. You can watch the announcement trailer below.
Cooperative combat is the central part of the game. Players assemble squads to take on large mythical enemies, with encounters designed around teamwork and adapting strategies during battle. Characters can be configured using different Styles and Skill combinations, allowing teams to adjust their builds according to their roles and the enemy being fought.
HoYoverse has not yet announced a release date or platforms for Nodusfall.
