The official Twitter account for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime has revealed new visuals for a number of characters in the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie. The movie opens on December 24 this year in Japan and is a prequel to the anime’s first season. The plot will focus on Okkotsu Yuta, a character who has been teased in season 1 as capable of surpassing Gojo.

The film covers Volume 0 of the manga. VIZ describes the plot as follows:
Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem. His childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?
Jujutsu Kaisen manga
Jujutsu Kaisen has earned its status as one of the most polpular new-gen manga titles, recently surpassing 55 million copies in circulation. The manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018. In addition, its 17th compiled volume will release in Japan today.
The manga also inspired a 24-episode anime adaptation, released in October last year. The anime was highly successful and even went on to win Anime of the Year at the Crunchyroll 2021 awards. You can also view the volume’s cover below:
