Katekyo Hitman REBORN! anime has officially released the creditless version of its very first opening, featuring SPLAY’s “Drawing days,” as part of the series’ 20th anniversary celebration.
The opening was used for Episodes 1-26 of the TV anime. “Drawing days” was written and composed by Takaaki Mukai, with SPLAY credited for the arrangement and performance.
The release follows yesterday’s announcement of “REBORN! MUSIC MONTH,” a September-long music project celebrating the anime’s 20th anniversary. As previously reported, the campaign will have creditless versions of the series’ past theme song sequences released daily on the official YouTube channel.
These creditless sequences were previously included with physical releases of the anime but had not been officially made available online. You can watch the first one below.
The campaign began on September 1 with an official 25-song playlist featuring opening themes, ending themes and other music from the TV anime.
The manga by Akira Amano ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from May 2004 to November 2012, ending with a total of 42 compilation volumes. The series also received an anime adaptation, which ran for 203 episodes from October 7, 2006 to September 25, 2010. Studio Artland handled the production.
