The teaser trailer for Kingdom Season 5 was released on November 21, 2023, featuring previous characters including Shin, Sei, anti-villain Kan Ki, and the newly introduced villain Riboku. The anime by Studio Signpost will premiere on January 6, 2024. Check out the teaser trailer below:
The Kingdom Season 5 teaser trailer follows the key visual released on November 15. The additional cast members who were also announced are:
- Toshiyuki Morikawa voices Riboku
- Daisuke Hirakawa voices Keisha
- Koji Ishii voices Kisui
The Kingdom anime adapts Yasuhisa Hara’s manga of the same name, which was first published in January 2006 in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump. The manga has published 70 volumes, is yet to be licensed in English, and recently passed the milestone of 100mn volumes in circulation as of November 2023.
Crunchyroll is streaming Kingdom and describes the plot as:
Shin and Hyou are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of proving themselves on the battlefield until the day Hyou is captured by a minister. The boy manages to escape and return to his village, but he is badly injured. Shin then meets a mysterious youth who bears an eerie resemblance to Hyou—a boy who will one day become emperor!
