The previously announced Kokyu no Karasu adaptation is a TV anime, set to air this October. Studio BN Pictures is animating the series. The main cast and the staff have been revealed, along with a teaser visual.
The main cast includes:
- Masaki Mizunaka as Ka Koshun
- Saku Mizuno as Ryu Jusetsu
- Taku Yashiro as Eisei
- Marika Kono as Jiujiu
Chizuru Miyawaki (Gintama) is directing the Kokyu no Karasu anime, with Satomi Oshima (Sataraki Man) on series composition. Shinji Takeuchi (Gintama) is doing character designs, while Asami Tachibana (Moriarty the Patriot) is composing the music. The anime is based on a novel written by Koko Shirakawa and illustrated by Ayuko. The series hasn’t been licensed in English, but a literal translation of the title would be “Raven in the Harem“.
The novel follows a concubine who lives in the emperor’s palace. Although she’s a concubine, she’s never been called to the emperor’s chambers. She is a mysterious woman and some claim that she is an old lady, while the others swear she has an appearance of a young girl. But, one thing is certain – she is a skilled magic user, who helps people with everything – from finding lost items to casting curses. One day, the emperor calls for her and their meeting is about to change the course of history…
The first teaser trailer is expected to drop on April 21, while the announcement PV was revealed in December of last year along with an announcement that the novel has surpassed 900 thousand copies in circulation:
